Hello everyone!
As I promised before, I've got a review from Sephora. I purchased the Makeup Academy Blockbuster palette from their website and have put it to good use. I'd been eye balling it for a little while, but finally plucked up the courage to actually go through with purchasing it for a school project (that's right I got to use makeup for a project).
It retails for $49.50 and has :
–72 eye shadows
–28 lipglosses
–7 blushes
–18 eyeliner crèmes
–3 concealers
–1 eye shadow primer
–1 lip primer
–2 double-ended sponge tip applicator
–1 double-ended eye shadow brush
–1 double-ended blush brush
–mirror

That's quite a lot of product for almost $50, so naturally I questioned the quality. I read quite a few reviews before I purchased it, because I'm pretty reluctant to spend money when I have rent and groceries I need to pay for, and they were pretty mixed. Some said that the color payoff was terrible and the shadows were really small, and others said the opposite.
I used it for my project before I used it on myself, which involved me creating four different makeup looks for four different skin types. The first thing I noticed when doing some of the models' makeup was that a few of the shadows had great color payoff, and a few had virtually none. To create a pink look I actually had to use one of the blushes instead of the eyeshadow, because it gave literally no color to her lids. So as far as the shadows go, they were alright, but I wasn't blown away by any of them, even though a few of them are really beautiful colors.
I've only used a few of the lipglosses, and they are incredibly pigmented. It's almost as if they are liquid lipsticks, which could very well be the case. As far as they go, I was pretty pleased.
The cream liners are also fairly pigmented, although I'm not a big cream liner fan. I'll definitely experiment with the colors some more and post some looks later on.
The blushes were alright, again, not super impressed or disappointed. It will be nice having a few more shades in my collection, as I've recently been on a blush kick.
Overall, I am fairly satisfied with the palette, although I do wish I could have gotten it for a little bit cheaper. But at least I have a larger color collection now (even if I do have to do a lot of build up for some of the colors).
